All-clear for Sandrissimo, who got tangled up in a start collision

The loosing streak of Sandro Cortese doesn't seem to come to an end. Shortly after the start, the Dynavolt Intact GP rider was involved in a collision in the first corner, striking his right ankle. Luckily check-ups revealed no serious injury.
The weekend of the Austrian Grand Prix was not crowned with success for the Dynavolt Intact GP team. At first, Marcel Schrötter couldn't ride due to his freshly operated scaphoid and after meanwhile two missed races dropped down in the standings from 10th to 14th position. Then substitute rider Danny Kent had to withdraw from the weekend due to a whiplash following his crash in FP1.
All eyes were on Sandro Cortese, who secured himself the 10th spot in the starting grid for the eleventh race of the season. The Moto2 rider had a perfect start from row four and turned into the first corner from the outer line. Next to him, on the inside, Xavi Vierge crashed and pushed Fabio Quartararo out of the corner, who then collided with Sandro's side. The 27-year-old was hit hard on his right ankle, which made it impossible for him to continue the race.
An X-Ray examination in the Clinica Mobile luckily showed that nothing was broken, just a painful contusion and slightly stretched ligaments. After two days of rest, everything should be fine to attack again in Silverstone/UK in two weeks from the 25h-27th of August.

Sandro Cortese
My start was really good and in the warm-up lap I already checked, which line I could go. After the start I accelerated up into third gear, went into turn 1 and felt a hard impact on my right side, which caused me heavy pain in the ankle and that made it impossible for me to continue the race. Luckily nothing is broken, just stretched ligaments but we will have to see how it goes.

This was just the sad ending to this weekend. Sandro had a pretty good start but unfortunately he got involved in the multiple collision, where he got hit quite heavily on his right foot. It looks like no bones are broken but we will get it checked again with another X-Ray. The essential thing is, that nothing too serious has happened. He won't be able to ride the test tomorrow as the doctor confined him absolute rest for two days.
